6 possible reasons the power of your optical amplifier low down

Optical fiber amplifier, panel display and the actual output is synchronous, if the panel display is normal, the fiber amplifier output is OK. if this case test optical amplifier time power down or not, there maybe 6 reasons as below:

Firstly, the user improper use of the machine. Plug in or out when the equipment is working, the output pigtail of optical amplifier is burned out, resulting in the power low down. If so, resplicing the output pigtail of optical amplifier please.

Secondly, the power meter isn’t precision enough. Low-quality power meter can’t be used to test the large power, fibercasa provides many kinds of high quality optical power meters can be used to it.

Thirdly, the output adapter is broken, with less possibility.

Fourthly, the quality of pigtail is too poor, and with too long fiber, may scratch the output adapter. You will find it’s ok when you use it firstly, but another test shows the power is lows down. You could resplice the output connector to solve this problem.

Fifthly, the input power meter is lower than standard and lead to the power and display static low down.

Sixth, The wavelength of the light source is wrong, if the 1550nm optical transmitter wavelength deviation, will cause the output optical power of the optical amplifier is not enough, can also cause small panel display.
