In recent years, the monopoly and limited chooses of residential broadband become the most complaints, and it also a strongly problem in public opinions. The reason is mainly due to the telecom companies and real estate developers division is unclear. Some real estate developers, property management companies, taking the advantage of the competitions in telecommunications among enterprises, forcing companies to enter with high-cost. In order to seize the market, Some telecommunications companies build communication facilities and get the monopoly. It harms the legitimate interests of the majority of users. To solve this problem, the national standards of China for FTTh started from April 1 devoted to "User Access Point" a clear concept, emphasizing that it’s not only the key point to distinguish the difference between telecommunication business and real estate business, but also to achieve the user freedom of choice foothold. In this paper, we analyze "User Access Point" to help readers understand this concept, promoting FTTH national standards are implemented. Main points can be summarized its contents as "One critical point, two models, four scenes."
One Critical Point
A key point is that the user access point. As the name implies, it is the position of the user to access telecommunication services. According to the specification, as defined in the user access point is the number of telecom companies jointly access, users here exercising a free choice of the site; telecom companies also works with real estate developers cut-off point is one of the standard mandatory requirements can implement the key points.
In FTTH engineering design, the position setting is very important, designers can based on the following principles:
(a)Set up A distribution area to a user access point
In FTTH project, an area covered by the user access point is a wiring area.
Specification recommends to set up a wiring area for general residential with 300 residents or villas with 120 residents.Practical application should be based on the type of residential construction, household density, fiber distribution equipment capacity and the actual situation to design the wiring area. Comprehensive measure the number of communication channels and cable and the corresponding changes resulted from changes of wiring coverage area in project investment, in order to select the optimal solution.
To minimize the communication conduit and number of wiring cables , we usually set optical splice in cable distribution boxes fo the user access point. Connecting the indoor cable with wiring cable.
(c) Determine the location by estimate the house types.
Since the types of residential buildings are too many, the number of households are very different, the conditions of site is too complex, in addition to fiber optic wiring area and jurisdiction in accordance with the number of users set user access point, the user access point specific location can be set in the equipment room, telecommunications room, summer transfer boxes, etc., should be based on the actual situation of residential building types, combining different connection models, the application of different design scenarios to make the best design.
